Shraddha and Saburi – Essence in Sai Devotion
There was no knowing, as to when Sai Baba would accept a devotee. That depended on His will. Siddik Falke’s story is to the point. One, gentlemen, by name Siddik Falke of Kalyan, after making pilgrimage to Mecca and Madina, came to Shirdi. He lived in the Chavadi, facing north and sat in the open court-yard of the Masjid. For nine months, Baba ignored him and did not allow him to step in the Masjid. Falke felt disconsolate and did not know what to do. Somebody, advised him to try to approach Baba through Shama, a close and intimate devotee of Baba. Shama on request of Falke spoke to Baba about him thus, “Baba, why don’t you allow the old Haji to step into the Masjid, while so many persons freely come and go, after taking your darshan; why not bless him once?”
Nine Types of Devotion Suggested by Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi
Due to merits of past births, we have got the birth of a human being. So we should be ever conscious to attain the objective of our life i.e. self realization. Saints show us the way to achieve self realization. They make us to follow the path of their own remembrance which ultimately leads us to union with God. Sai Baba was one such saint, but the only exception was that he was God Incarnate but lived like a saint, a human, among others. He never claimed to be God, but always uttered that he was faithful servant of his master (God).
Causes of Unhappiness in Life
Human beings are comprised of three fundamental factors, namely, will, feeling and cognition and three kind of temperament – the active, the emotional and rational. All this must be harmoniously blended in order to attain “perfection”. This can be achieved only by doing one’s prescribed duty of life, without worldly attachment. This is the only way to reach the Supreme.
What is my relationship with my Guru?
Relationship of Guru with his devotee is similar to the relationship between a soul and God. However, the spiritual capability of the Guru needs to be known to see the exact connection. The Param Sadguru who is actually an incarnation of God encompasses everything both living and non-living in the world. He is the soul within every creature.
